EV Charging
Electric Vehicle Charging
An untethered Project EV 7.3kWh smart charger has been installed on the wall adjacent to the dedicated car parking area for our guests use. The unit is remotely switched by the owners and can be accessed by selecting the EV charger as an optional extra when booking.
EV Charging Costs
The cost of re-selling electricity is governed by Ofgem (ref to Guide for Reselling) and it is against the law for holiday lets to charge their customers more than the rate charged by their provider.
Our current electricity provider is British Gas and we are on a single rate of 31.13p/kWh which is the rate we charge for using this facility
EV Payment and Charging Procedure
To utilise this service, the guest needs to have a debit or credit card to which payment can be charged and the use of a smart phone, either Apple or Android.
We have partnered with Square Up Charging to allow guests to pay per charging session via a credit or debit card.
To unlock and pay for this facility, guests need to scan the QR Code located on the side of the EV charger with their smart phone, download the Square Up App and follow the directions in the App.
On entering the payment card details, the guest can choose to charge by battery %, number of miles, or just a time (e.g. 30 mins).
Once the session timer is complete, the number of units during the session is displayed and and the price charged after the session. Visit Square Up Charging for further info: https://www.squareupcharging.co.uk
Note
1 Guests are required to provide an appropriate cable to connect their car to the charger
2 The use of any other method to charge an Electric vehicle at Afallon is strictly forbidden as it invalidates the owner’s insurance policy. In the unlikely event that an unauthorised method of charging vehicles is made, the Owner reserves the right to terminate the holiday and all guest to vacate the premises without any recourse of refund or compensation
